In Mrs. Eckert's classroom, students in the inner circle discussed deep essential questions they had to back up with evidence from our story. Students in the outer circle observed a partner in the inner circle to ensure they used our Socratic sentence starters and provided evidence. There was also a “fire seat” left open in the inner circle if someone in the outer circle had a “burning question or comment.” One student was the teacher, who read off all the questions and managed the flow. At the end, partners reflected on how they had done! I was so proud of them! So amazing!

Thanks to Makoshika State Park, NASP, and the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks for holding an archery tournament for our youth! We had four sixth graders attend with their coach, Ms. Huston! It was a wonderful experience for our students!
