Just a reminder we have a busy weekend for the Demons! We have multiple events going on at the same time here in Glendive. Come on out to support the volleyball teams VS Williston 10/11 am (7th @ WMS, 8th @ DCHS) and the Football teams in the WMS Jamboree at DCHS starting at 10 am. There will be GREAT concessions at the football jamboree!!! GO DEMONS!!!

Football Jamboree UPDATE: The WMS Football Jamboree scheduled for this Saturday, 8/31 has been moved up to starting at 10 am. There will be full concessions at the Jamboree and our regular admission fees will apply. GO DEMONS!!!

First day of school with all students at WMS! Off to a great start! WMS t-shirt orders are flying off the press. Don’t forget to get your order in! If you need an order form one can be picked up in the office. Cost is $15 and all profits go directly back to our students for BLITZ activities and other fun activities. GO DEMONS!!!

6th grade orientation today! We started off with a class assembly and then broke off into home rooms. Those home room groups went through 6 stations where staff explained MBI universals and expectations for different areas of our building. Up next Minute to Win it games in gym. School is just about upon us! With all of the construction still ongoing outside of the school on N Meade Ave we wanted parents and the community to be aware of what our plan is here at WMS before school and after.
If you are dropping your student off or picking them up we are asking parent/guardians to use Dodge street on the N side of the building. This parking lot will be solely designated for parent/community parking (along with handicap) while the construction is still ongoing. Students will then walk around the building to the playground on the backside until the bell rings. Our staff will park on the playground on the far S end. This area will be coned off. THIS AREA IS NOT FOR COMMUNITY PARKING BETWEEN 7-4 pm or pick up/drop off. The community members who have been displaced by the construction are welcome to use the parking lot as we have allowed all summer as long as they are out by 7 am (our first students arrive around 7:15 am). Please stay SOUTH of the orange cones we have set out when you park and exit through the west exits.
Buses will drop off on N River Ave in the morning and students will walk onto the playground from there. Buses will be picking up on the WMS playground so it is vital that students are not walking outside of the designated cone area for safety reasons on the playground. This includes students being picked up. Please do not park on N River Ave to pick up your child if at all possible (Use Dodge St).
I have been told that they hope construction will be done on the N Meade in front of our school about 2 weeks from now. We ask for your patience during this time. We are EXCITED to have your kids soon! GO DEMONS!!!

Fall Sports 1st week practice schedule. Remember, you must have a sports physical in order to begin practicing. If you do not have a physical yet, you can come and watch practice and attend the meetings until you do. GO DEMONS!!!
Volleyball: Aug 19 meeting 3:30 pm in the gym (no practice), Aug 22-23 practice times after school discussed at the meeting on the 19th.
Cross Country: practice at 9 am (M,T) & 3:30 (Th, Fri)
Football: Aug 19 - First day of practice (3:30 - 5:30) | 8th graders get equipment after practice
Aug 20 - Second day of practice (3:30 - 5:30) | 7th graders get equipment after practice

The Board of Trustees of Glendive Public Schools is searching for a trustee to fill a vacant position. He or she will serve on the board until May of 2020, when the seat will open for election.
