Update on WMS gym floor:
While trying to assess and resolve the initial problem which was the source of the buckled gym floor, it was determined that the quantity of leaking pipes was greater than originally believed. Due to the condition of the pipes and, to ensure the restoration is properly completed, we have been working with; our insurance company, two restoration companies, two plumbers, and two flooring companies.
Upon assessing the extent of the damage, additional leaks were discovered around the gym area as well as the identification yesterday (12/5) of mold in the boy’s restroom (foyer of the gym). Precautions were immediately taken to quarantine the gym foyer and restroom area until a mitigation specialist can further assess the situation.
Our goal is to immediately and properly rectify these issues so as to resume normal activities at WMS as soon as possible.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mark Goyette (WMS Principal) at 377-3288 or Stephen Schreibeis (GPS Superintendent) at 377-5339.

PARENTS: The 1st day of practice for 7th & 8th grade boys basketball will be on 12/16. 7th grade will practice right after school and 8th grade will practice at 5:15 pm. Remember, your child must have a sports physical in order to participate so get that taken care of as soon as possible.
There will be a meeting for all 8th graders who are interested in playing on 12/10/19 during lunch recess in the gym. The 7th grade meeting will be on 12/11/19 during lunch recess in Mr. Eckert's classroom.
Please see the attached game schedule below for game times/locations.

SELFIE OF THE WEEK: This week I decided to share with you all how thankful I am to have not only our 6-8th grade students at WMS but also the Pre-K students we serve and AWESOMIZER staff! This week Mrs. D (Pre-K teacher) had our MS students in to do projects and work with some of her pre-K students. It makes my heart happy to see how GREAT of a job the MS students do in being good role models for these kiddo's! Have a great Thanksgiving Glendive!!! #WMSDEMONS

So the WMS Golden Rule Ambassadors met this morning and we learned about the evolution of social media and why it was originally formed. We then challenged each other in the group to post at least one positive/encouraging/uplifting thing (quote/story/picture/meme, etc.) each day on each of our social media accounts (if they have one). Very proud of these students and their efforts to make WMS, GPS & Glendive a better place! We challenge everyone to do the same! #GOLDENRULEAMBASSADORS

Glendive Public Schools would like your input! As many of you know, the District just put in front of the voters two bond measures that did not pass. We would like to learn and gather input from everyone who voted to better understand how we can improve moving forward. We are going to continue to strive to make this a transparent process in which we will continue to seek feedback to ensure we create a vision that reflects our entire community. Please consider taking a few minutes to fill out the survey. This survey is 100% anonymous. Thank you!

UPDATE from Mr. Buckley (AD): I have found officials from Sidney for Saturday's basketball games at DCHS. We will drop the middle curtain and run the games similar to how the Makoshika Tournament is run. There will be a 7th grade court and 8th grade court with games starting at 10/11:15 am. Williston will use the girls PE locker rooms and our girls will be in the varsity girls locker room.

UPDATE from Mr. Buckley (AD): We have rescheduled the WMS mixer with Miles City and Sidney for Monday, November 18th at the DCHS gym starting at 4 pm.

REMINDER: Tomorrow, 11/7/19, is an early out release at 1:18 pm for students. That will be followed by parent/teacher conferences from 2-8 pm. The middle school does not schedule specific times for parents to meet with teachers like the elementary schools. Instead parents can meet with the teachers in their classrooms as they are available. Mrs. Svenvold (Choir) will be at WMS from 2-5 pm and the HS from 5-8 pm.
Parents, please pick up your child's schedule at the main office when you arrive. A map will also be provided of the school. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
